New Minecraft Launcher Starts With A Grey Screen

System Restore is your first line of defense. It can help you return to a time before the issue started as a time machine. You can always undo it in the event that it doesn't work. You can read the tutorial first and then restore back to the state you were in before it started. Do it now in case System Restore isn't enabled on C drive in order to make it available in the near future.

If the problem repeats or System Restore doesn't work then check which Windows Updates were installed at Settings > Update & Security > Windows Updates > Update History, uninstall them there or System Restore again, then immediately check for and block the Updates with the Hide Updates tool explained here: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/8280-hide-s...

Even if you've already tried the steps I suggest I suggest you repeat them in order.

1) Run the Store app troubleshooter in Settings> Update & Security> Troubleshoot.

2) Check for and install game updates in the Microsoft Store app > Hub (three dots in the upper right) > Updates.

3) Reset Minecraft in Windows Settings > Applications > Apps and Features > Minecraft > Advanced Option Repair or Reset. Restart your computer and try again.

If none of these work to work, uninstall Minecraft from Settings, reboot your computer, then reinstall MS Store Hub (three dots at the top right of Store app).

4) The driver for the Display is so crucial that updating it often is not enough. Therefore, let's try every option to ensure it's functioning properly:

You can update the driver for your Display via the PC or Display adapter manufacturer's Support downloads website. This will provide you with the exact model number, HP Serial No. or Dell Service Tag - as indicated on the sticker that is on your computer.

You can also look for BIOS/UEFI firmwares, newer chipsets as well as network, sound and other drivers by right-clicking in the Start Menu.

If this doesn't give you the latest or ideal driver for what you need, compare it to the driver offered by the Intel driver update Utility here: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/... or the Nvidia Update utility here: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Scan.aspx?lang=e... or the AMD autodect utility here: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/P...

For Display issues, one solution that works is to roll back or Uninstall the Driver on the Display Device > Driver tab, restart PC to install driver.

You can also try older drivers in Device Manager > Display device > Driver tab > Update Driver > Browse > Let Me Pick.

This will inform you that you have tried every option in addition to Windows Update drivers.

Adjust the resolution of the screen until it fits and looks best at Settings > System > Display.

5) If nothing else helps then contact Minecraft Support here: https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

I hope this helps.  Minecraft Server List  to ask back any questions you have and keep me updated. If you don't rate my post, I will continue to work with you until the issue is solved.
